A week ago, Twins outfielder Denard Span dove for a fly ball and wound up hurting his shoulder. The injury kept him out for three games, and although he was able to return and collected two hits both Monday and Tuesday, he's going to have his shoulder checked out:
Denard Span Scheduled For MRI On Shoulder
Denard Span tells me he is having MRI on his shoulder today.
Odds are, this is just precautionary, as the Twins look to make sure he’s completely fine as the playoffs approach. Span hasn’t been a great hitter this season, owning a batting line of .266/.333/.354, but he’s been one of the team’s better baserunners, and his defense has been a big positive in center field.
Ben Revere may benefit from any further time that Span misses. Read more on Span and the Twins over at Twinkie Town.
