There are three different styles of play the two squads will be competing in:
Fourball: A match in which a two-man American team will compete against a two-man European team. All four players will be playing every hole, however only the lowest score will be kept per team. The team with the lowest score will win the hole, if the two teams best score is the same, then the hole will be halved.
Foursomes: Consisting of a two-man American team pitted against a two-man European team in which only one ball will be played per hole. The two-man team will alternate shots throughout the hole until the hole is complete. Each golfer will rotate who tees off (Golfer A will play even numbered holes while Golfer B will play odd numbered holes).
Singles: One American player competing against one European player with the best score winning each hole.
