Why Darrelle Revis Held Out For More Money: Nick Mangold Wants A New Car

Now that Darrelle Revis is gettin’ paid, he’s going to have to pay the piper. The piper, in this instance, is Jets center Nick Mangold.

With news that Darrelle Revis has ended his holdout by signing a four-year deal early Monday morning with the Jets, Mangold is ready for his teammate to pay up on a long overdue wager. Mangold said he and Revis were at the Pro Bowl two years ago, and Revis promised him a new car if they both made the Pro Bowl the next year, in 2009.

Well, they did, so now Revis better pay up. Mangold isn’t too picky, he only asks that the car is not a hybrid, is “gun-metal black” and isn’t too small for his lineman frame.

So, basically a Hummer. Did Mangold and Revis make this bet in 1997? Not exactly green-thinking from Gang Green.

Snce he’s making high-risk, big-ticket bets like this, it’s a good thing Revis doesn’t have any kids. Oh...right.
