UCLA Vs. Florida: Patric Young Dunk Sparks ‘Man’s Jam’ Call

↵The best play of what has been a pretty entertaining NCAA Tournament game between Florida and UCLA came here, when Patric Young of Florida took a beautiful pass from Chandler Parsons and slammed it down on the break. It was the kind of explosive play Young has given the Gators all season, but of course was magnified by the moment.

↵But as much as we have to give props to Young, the true star of this play was announcer Ian Eagle. NBA fans know Eagle well for his work with the New Jersey Nets broadcast team, but others have no clue who he is. Now, we should all know. Eagle unleashed his classic “That’s a Man’s Jam!” call on this dunk, and the sense of the moment was perfect. It involved him slightly raising his voice, giving a catch-phrase that was perfectly appropriate, and letting the energy of the crowd take over. That’s how it’s done, play-by-play guys. It’s not done by you screaming and yelling about how amazing the play was.*
