Jacob Pullen dominated Jordan Taylor all night, scoring 38 points to set a new 2011 NCAA Tournament high. But what Taylor did in the last minute of Wisconsin’s win over Kansas State made up for all of it.
NCAA Bracket Update: Wisconsin Beats Kansas State 70-65, Moves On To Sweet Sixteen
Taylor converted two free throws late that forced Pullen to rush a game-tying three, then blocked that shot to all but seal Wisconsin’s trip to the Sweet Sixteen.
And those clutch plays made up for Taylor fouling Pullen on a potential game-tying three just moments before. Pullen made only two of three free throws, though, ending his superb night with a heartbreaking coda.
Wisconsin’s Mike Bruesewitz hit a three-pointer with 1:31 left to give Wisconsin a lead it would not relinquish.
