Go ahead, make a joke about the 2011 CBI bracket’s Final Four, which consists of Central Florida, Creighton, Boise State and Oregon. Just understand that one day soon, possibly even next season, one of those teams will be beating yours en route to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
CBI Bracket Down To Final Four; NCAA Tournament Should Take Note
All one has to do is look at the 2010 CBI when VCU, St. Louis, Princeton and Boston made the Final Four. Three of those teams ended up making the NCAA Tournament this year and one of them, the 2010 winner VCU, is now prepping for a Sweet 16 showdown with Florida State.
One of the teams that could play VCU in the Elite Eight, should they both win, would be Richmond. The same Richmond team that played in the 2009 CBI Final Four.
So this time next year, if you see UCF or Creighton as a 12 or 13 seed, pray that your team isn’t in the same bracket. The CBI Final Four is a harbinger of doom ready to feast on the souls of complacent major conference teams.
