San Diego State is off to a nice start in its Sweet 16 March Madness game against Connecticut, leading 8-6 after four minutes of play. But they suffered a key loss early when Kawhi Leonard picked up his second foul on a technical foul, taking him out of the game. Coach Steve Fisher mouthed “Come On” to him as he sat down.
Connecticut Vs. San Diego State Score: Kahwi Leonard In Foul Trouble, But Aztecs Lead
It’s unfortunate because Leonard scored the Aztecs first six points on two strong moves to the rim and a jumper, exactly what he should be doing. But now, the Aztecs must survive without him.
Kemba Walker, meanwhile, missed his first three shots, visibly struggling with the Aztecs' strong defense. He made Billy White leap and ducked under him on his final miss, but couldn't convert.
