2011 NFL Combine Schedule: Measurements, Wonderlic Test And Interviews

The 2011 NFL Combine is underway, although we’ve yet to see anyone actually work out. The first group of players -- place kickers, special teamers, offensive linemen and tight ends -- arrived on Wednesday and will continue on the four-day NFL draft prep process on Thursday.

On Thursday, these players will go through some physical measurements, which is always interesting. Colleges tend to inflate a player’s height or weight so NFL teams will get the real numbers on them. They will also take the Wonderlic test. You can read about the usefulness (or uselessness) of that test here. If it matters, offensive linemen are generally among the smarter guys on the field.

And finally the players will end their second day meeting with NFL teams. Every team comes to the Combine with a list of 60 names. They’ll get time for a 15-minute interview with those 60 players.

The offensive line class this year isn’t nearly as top heavy as we’re used to seeing. In SB Nation’s latest NFL mock draft, an offensive tackle isn’t taken until the 12th pick and not again until the 18th pick where there’s a run on them.
