SB Nation's 2011 NFL mock draft continues with the Cincinnati Bengals taking a quarterback in the second round at pick No. 35 -- QB Andy Dalton. The Bengals are in an odd position with QB Carson Palmer possibly not returning next season so they'll need some sort of quarterback of the future in the fold.

Regardless, the Bengals need a quarterback while Carson Palmer lives luxuriously in the retirement phase of his career while his younger, and less talented, brother suddenly becomes the team’s top quarterback. Dalton, according to many experts, is believed to be a quarterback that can run the West Coast offense - a system implemented this off-season with the hiring of Jay Gruden as the team’s offensive coordinator.
The Bengals are really in a tough position. Dalton probably isn’t a day one starter and they don’t have much else in the pipeline outside of Palmer so 2011 can be a really tough year. But, in the long-term interests of the team, Dalton makes sense.
