2011 NFL Draft: Da’Quan Bowers Holds Out Hope To Be No. 1 Pick
But once the college football season ended, and the pre-draft process started, the buzz on Bowers has worn off. That’s due mostly to reports that he has some sort of long-term knee injury. For his part, Bowers says the reports about his knee haven’t been entirely accurate.
“All the speculations about my knee and the surgery are all wrong. The NFL teams and the doctors know what’s going on, so that’s all that really matters at this point.”
He also said that, despite the lack of buzz surrounding his name right now, he says it's still a goal to be the top overall pick next Thursday.
“Definitely. I want to go as the No. 1 draft pick. That’s the prized possession being that first name called.”
A lot of 2011 NFL mock drafts, including SB Nation's latest, has Bowers slipping out of the top 10.
