NFL Draft Rumors: Patriots, Eagles Among Teams Looking To Trade Up

The 2011 NFL draft is only a couple of days away now and we’re starting to hear more rumors about which teams like which players. We’re also hearing more about the teams looking to trade up. ESPN’s Adam Schefter identified several teams in the draft that are seeking a trade-up if the right player is there.

He identifies the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles as the teams looking to trade up in the draft.

We’ve talked about the Patriots and the ammo they have to trade up. It’s unclear who their target is, which picks they’re looking to package to move up or how high they’re trying to go. They hold the 17th, 28th and 33rd picks in the draft so they can get just about anywhere in the draft if they’d like.

The Eagles are drafting 23rd in the first round and I don't think they can move up very far with the picks they have. Could they be looking for an offensive tackle before a possible run on tackles hits with the Kansas City Chiefs (21st) and Indianapolis Colts (22nd)?

Schefter also reports the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings could be looking to trade up. I imagine those first three teams would want to be moving back into the first round after using their first round selection with the target probably being a quarterback. The Vikings could be looking to trade up from the 12th spot or perhaps from the second round back into the first.

It’s starting to feel like draft season with all these rumors coming on. To get your draft fix, check out SB Nation’s Mocking The Draft.
