NFL Draft Rumors: Cardinals Could Look To Trade Back

The feeling by many of the national media is that the Arizona Cardinals, picking fifth in the 2011 NFL draft, will select QB Blaine Gabbert if he's available. The feeling by many of the local media in Arizona is that they will not select a quarterback so there's some definitely some confusion on what the Cardinals want to do with their first round pick in the NFL draft.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports there’s at least one team that believes the Cardinals will now consider trading back in the NFL draft. Since they’re in the top five they could command quite a bit for their pick meaning this would be a blockbuster trade of sorts.

What's interesting is that another report surfaced on Wednesday that the Atlanta Falcons were targeting WR A.J. Green or Julio Jones in the draft. The Falcons are picking 27th and Green is expected to be a top five pick. So I wonder if the team that feels Arizona could trade back is Atlanta.

Will the Cardinals be able to move the pick if they wanted? I imagine they would at least have some offers. There could be a team or two hoping to get in front of the 49ers (seventh) or Titans (eighth) in order to select a quarterback that’s still there like Gabbert.
