NFL Draft Trade Rumors: Patriots Looking At Cowboys Pick

The New England Patriots are armed with three of the top 33 picks in the 2011 NFL draft making them the most obvious candidate to start trading picks. In addition to that, no team has traded more draft picks over the last decade than Bill Belichick.

So expect some trades to go down. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that one of those trades could be with the Dallas Cowboys. Apparently, the Patriots are looking to trade with the Cowboys, who hold the ninth overall pick.

Who would their target be?

Mort says it’s DE Cameron Jordan. SB Nation Boston weighs in on the Patriots trade rumors:

Jordan, 6-4 and 287 pounds, is the type of pass-rushing specialist the Pats are eyeing in the 2011 NFL Draft. There’s no word on what New England would give up in return, but it’s fair to assume one of their first-rounders would be sent to Dallas, if not both.

The Patriots traded away DE Richard Seymour so plenty of people are thinking a defensive end for their 3-4 scheme is a solid possibility. Jordan makes sense and, if the Patriots feel they need to trade up for him, then that means they expect him to be gone by the time the 17th pick comes around.
