NFL Draft 2011: A.J. Green Sits Atop Bengals Draft Board

This news won't surprise anyone but ESPN's Bob Holtzmann is reporting that Georgia WR A.J. Green sits atop the Cincinnati Bengals wish list. Green has consistently been sent to the Bengals in various 2011 NFL mock drafts.

The other option, from what I can tell, would be QB Blaine Gabbert. He was tied to the Bengals for some time but reports have suggested that team owner Mike Brown isn't convinced QB Carson Palmer plans to retire if he's not traded.

If the Bengals go with Green, they’ll be testing Palmer on that.

Of course, they can also address quarterback in the second round, or by moving back into the first round. But if Holtzmann’s report is accurate, then the Bengals will likely have the best receiver in the draft waiting for whoever their quarterback is.

The best part about all this is that we’re only a few hours away from finding out who the pick is.

Check out Cincy Jungle for more on the Bengals draft day plans.

The first round of the 2011 NFL Draft starts at 8 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, April 28th and SB Nation has everything you need to prepare for it - NFL mock drafts, draft projections, scouting reports, the full NFL draft order and more. Check it all out at SB Nation's NFL Draft Hub and our NFL Draft blog Mocking the Draft.
