The Houston Texans went with defense with the 11th pick in the J.J. Watt, a defensive end out of Wisconsin. Watt is tenacious off the edge and has plenty of athleticism to boot. Watt is impressive in the pass-rush, and brings the effort every single snap. We hear “high motor” a lot during the draft, but in this case the term may be well-deserved

At 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, he has the size to move around, and frequently moved inside and outside on the defensive line. He can line-up either over the guard or outside the tackle’s shoulder, showing effectiveness in either situation. Whether he plays up to his athleticism at the NFL-level remains to be seen, but he should provide a quick boost to the Texans defensive line.
