2011 NFL Draft Results: Mike Pouncey Goes To Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have the 15th pick in the 2011 NFL draft and they've decided on Florida G/C Mike Pouncey. The brother of Pittsburgh Steelers' Maurkice Pouncey, Mike hails from Florida and looks to play center or guard for the Dolphins.
Pouncey, along with Alabama RB Mark Ingram, were popular mock draft picks for the Dolphins. The Dolphins may have had a quarterback on their mind but the early run on quarterbacks may have ruined that choice for them.
Pouncey can step in and play immediately at center or guard for the Dolphins. This is a safe pick for the Dolphins that doesn’t have a high chance of busting.
In the end, Mike Pouncey is a solid selection for the Dolphins. He’s not the sexiest but he will bolster the offensive line for a team who makes their money in the running game.
The Pounceys become the 12th set of brothers to be selected in the first round.
