Todd McShay’s Round 2 Mock Draft Has Ryan Mallett With Oakland Raiders

One of the biggest questions entering the second round of the 2011 NFL draft -- besides where DE Da’Quan Bowers will go -- is who ends up taking QB Ryan Mallett. He has one of the best arms in the draft and, looking at his physical skills alone, he’s definitely a first round pick.

Alas, perceived character concerns have followed Mallett and his stock has taken a hit. He's now available in the second round and at some point a team is going to take a flyer on him. ESPN's Todd McShay, in his second round mock draft, predicts that team will be the Oakland Raiders.

Fitting, isn't it? The Raiders seem to be attracted to guys that have the character concerns shadow hanging over them. The Raiders traded for QB Jason Campbell last year so they have what we believe is a starting quarterback in place.

Mallett could conceivably step in and take some time adjusting to the pro game behind Campbell. It would be a risk but, hey, the Raiders love to take risks.
