The first round of the 2011 NFL draft has come and gone so we sit here now figuring out what will happen at the top of the second round. The Patriots hold the first pick of the second round -- 33rd overall -- and plenty of people think they'll try to trade it.
NFL Draft, Second Round: Do Patriots Have A Trade Partner?
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said he’s received a few calls on the 33rd pick. Who would be calling about the pick? Here a couple of ideas:
Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals are in a tough spot. They reportedly have their eye on QB Andy Dalton but two teams sit ahead of them in the third round -- New England and Buffalo. The Patriots are a threat to trade out of that spot to a team that could want Dalton and the Bills could also consider Dalton. The Bengals may have to move up if Dalton's their man.
Anybody who wants Da’Quan Bowers: He could end up being the steal of the draft if the reported issues with his knees aren’t that serious. He’s a supreme talent so there’s someone out there who could consider moving up to the Patriots pick to assure themselves they can select him.
I’m not sure how many teams, other than the Bengals, would consider moving up for Dalton.
