As the 2011 NFL Draft moves into the home stretch of the seventh round, let’s examine picks 234-238:
2011 NFL Draft Results: Small School Picks Populate Seventh Round
234. San Diego Chargers select LB Andrew Gachkar of Missouri. With below-average size and decent speed, Gachkar could be a valuable reserve.
235. Miami Dolphins select CB Jimmy Wilson of Montana. Yet another small-school secondary star comes off the board. Wilson comes with major character concerns, however, having once been charged with (and acquitted of) murder.
236. Minnesota Vikings select WR Stephen Burton of West Texas A&M. A dynamo with great production numbers against underwhelming competition.
237. Philadelphia Eagles select DE Greg Lloyd of Connecticut. Stout son of former NFL great Greg Lloyd Sr. has bloodlines from but no connection with his father, who once stuck a gun in the younger Lloyd's mouth.
238. Tampa Bay Buccaneers select TE Daniel Hardy of Idaho. Hardy is a converted quarterback with good athleticism for a tight end.
