Former Texans safety Bernard Pollard has signed with the Baltimore Ravens, according to a report by Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times. Pollard will help fill the hard-hitting vacuum left by Dawan Landry's move to the Jaguars.
Bernard Pollard To Join Ravens Secondary, According To Report
Former Texans safety Bernard Pollard has signed with the Ravens, solidifying their defensive backfield.
Pollard spent the last two seasons in Houston, where he was one of the top tackling safeties in the league, topping 100 tackles twice. In Baltimore he should act as a nice complement to the ball-hawking skills of Ed Reed and help replicate the run support provided by Landry.
Pollard's signing does raise some questions about Tom Zbikowski, a former safety at Notre Dame and Ravens third round draft pick, and his status with the team. Zbikowski was the projected starter with Landry gone; however, he is currently sidelined on the non-football illness list.
