Free agency season is fast approaching, with NFL teams having until March 13 to work with their impending unrestricted free agents before they hit the open market. The Washington Redskins have plenty of questions to address in the offseason, one of which revolves around a talented young tight end, Fred Davis.

Jason La Confora stopped by NFL Total Access to give his take on a couple of Redskins players. He pointed out that if either Davis or Trent Williams have another misstep following their suspensions, they'll be out of the league for a year. But La Canfora went on to say that after talking to numerous sources in the Redskins organization, they anticipate Williams filling the left tackle position for years to come and they likewise don't want Davis going anywhere.

La Canfora’s sources tell him that with Davis reaching the end of his contract this offseason, it is expected that Washington will place the franchise tag on him, since they have ample room to work with in their payroll.

Davis and Williams were suspended for the final four games of the 2011 season for repeatedly failing drug tests, a suspension that will also include the first four games of the 2012 season. Since his NFL career began in 2008, Davis has 131 catches, 1,648 yards and 12 touchdowns.
