He has hired Brent Pease as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Pease took a job less than two weeks ago as the offensive coordinator at Indiana after five years with the Broncos as the wide receivers coach. He has coordinating experience in the Big 12, SEC and Big Sky and played quarterback at Montana.
Petersen hired Robert Prince to replace Pease as the wide receivers coach and serve as the pass game coordinator (offensive line coach Chris Strausser is the run game coordinator). Prince was the wide receivers coach from 2001 to 2003 while Petersen was the offensive coordinator.
Petersen said that he did have a phone conversation with Stanford but the courting went no further.
