2011 NFL Draft: Darvin Adams Skipping Senior Season At Auburn

A 2010 Auburn Tigers football team that could have grown into a dynasty continues to empty its talent pool of juniors: No. 1 receiver Darvin Adams has declared for the 2011 NFL draft. Adams is 6'3, a native of Mississippi, and not named "Darwin," which is something a lot of people don't seem to know about him. He joins the occasionally embattled Cam "Cameron" Newton and jovial liability Nick Fairley in taking an early run at the pros.

The lanky Adams has never cracked the 1,000-yard mark as a Tiger, but came close twice, finishing the 2009 season with 997 yards and the 2010 with 963. He had three 100-yard games this season, against Clemson, Kentucky, and Chattanooga, and one 217-yard showstopping performance against South Carolina in the SEC Championship Game. Auburn's team leader in receptions pergame and average receiving yards per game, he ranks 50th nationally in the latter category.

For more on the dismantling of the Tigers' championship unit, visit SB Nation's Track 'Em Tigers, where they're lately observing how departing players aren't the only ones about to get paid, and debate this year's crop of prospects at our 2011 NFL mock draft.
