The swirling trade rumors surrounding Carmelo Anthony have quieted for now, but the drama continued on Friday as the Denver Nuggets got set to face the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony was conspicuously absent from the Nuggets' morning shootaround, reportedly missing the workout for personal reasons. It's been just two days since New Jersey Nets general manager Mikhail Prokhorov halted the lengthy trade talks between the Nets and Nuggets, calling them over and done with.
Lakers Vs. Nuggets: Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant Square Off In Denver
On the court, the task isn't any easier for Anthony and the Nuggets on Friday as they host Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. The first, and only, time the two teams met this season ended in a 118-112 Denver win. Bryant scored 34 points and Pau Gasol had 20 rebounds all the way back on Nov. 11, but couldn't overcome Anthony's 32 points and 13 rebounds.
The action tipped-off at 10:30 and can be seen on ESPN.
