Body Of Ed Reed’s Brother Tentatively Identified By Police

The sad saga of Brian Reed, missing brother of Baltimore Raven Ed Reed, may have come to its unfortunate conclusion. Officials who recovered a body late Tuesday from the Mississippi River have tentatively identified it as Brian Reed.

St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said tattoos on the body recovered late Tuesday appear to match those belonging to 28-year-old Brian Reed, who jumped into the river after an encounter with a sheriff’s deputy. An autopsy was planned for Thursday.

Ed Reed played through the drama of his brother's disappearance, helping the Ravens in an emotional victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Reed was given the game ball afterward and he dedicated it to his missing brother.

Brian Reed is survived by a 2-year-old son.
