The Michigan St. Spartans keep finding new depths, losing at home to the Michigan Wolverines, 61-57. This is only Michigan's second Big Ten win of the year, while the Spartans have now lost three straight. State has been in bad shape ever since losing to the Penn St. Nittany Lions -- after that game they lost three of their next five, with the two wins coming in overtime.
Minus Korie Lucious, Michigan State’s Slide Continues; Michigan Wins, 61-57
But at least until tonight Spartans fans could take solace in losses to Illinois and Purdue being road slips against ranked teams. But archrival Michigan?
With star Korie Lucious dismissed from the team earlier this week, things aren't likely to start getting better on their own. Tonight the Spartans relied on the capable Kalin Lucas, who scored 27 points but got little scoring help from the rest of the squad. Zack Novak and Darius Morris led the Wolverines with 19 and 17 as Michigan hit almost half of their 21 three-point attempts.
