New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas' season didn't end the way he thought it would. The Saints announced Thomas was headed to injured reserve for the same ankle injury that cost him over half the season. Thomas played in Week 1-3 before suffering the ankle injury and returned to play in just three more games this year.
Pierre Thomas’ Injury Sends Him To Injured Reserve
RB Chris Ivory was also placed on injured reserve which now leaves the Saints with Reggie Bush and Julius Jones as the only capable running backs. The Saints are known for Drew Brees and the passing offense but Thomas is an important part of the offense with 15 rushing touchdowns the two years prior.
Thomas ends the season with 83 carries for 269 yards and 29 receptions for 201 yards, as well as two touchdowns. It is his lowest yards per carry of his young career.
The Saints travel to Seattle on Saturday to play the Seahawks in the wildcard round of the playoffs.
