And now the East team leads the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
U.S. Army All-American Bowl: James Wilder Gives East The Lead
Florida running back James Wilder led the East down the field with powerful running, and punched in a short touchdown run that helped the East take the lead for the first time, 13-10.
Wilder, a Florida State commit, had a number of impressive carries on the drive, including one that including Wilder stiff-arming a defender to the ground. He’s played both linebacker and running back for Tampa Plant High School — a high school that also produced Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray — but will almost certainly play running back in college for the Seminoles.
In face, the interest in keeping Wilder at running back that Florida State showed is what many analysts have cited as the key to his commitment to play for Jimbo Fisher at Tallahassee.
And if Wilder’s name sounds familiar, it should be: he’s the son of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back James Wilder, making him James Wilder, Jr.
