Rays Vs. Rangers, ALDS Game 2 Preview: Time, TV Schedule, Starting Pitchers And More

James Shields and Derek Holland will duel from the pitcher’s mound in Game 2 of the ALDS between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Texas Rangers. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. ET on TBS.

The Tampa Bay Rays head into Saturday's Game 2 of the ALDS against the Texas Rangers with a 1-0 lead in the series after a 9-0 win Friday evening. Matt Moore earned some scrutiny heading into the game after he was tabbed as the Rays' starter despite just one major league start for his career. He pitched a gem however, giving up just two hits in seven innings for the shutout.

The game is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. Eastern on TBS, according to the 2011 ALDS schedule, just before the Detroit Tigers and the New York Yankees kick off their Game 1 continuation at 8:37 ET.

James Shields is set to take the mound for the Rays on Saturday, aiming for what would be a commanding 2-0 start. Shields was probably who most expected to start Game 1, but by gambling with Moore the Rays have set themselves in the driver's seat for the series. Shields is coming in with a 2.22 ERA from the month of September.

Rangers' starter Derek Holland should theoretically be able to hold his own, with a 10-1 record and a 2.77 ERA in his last 15 starts. He has struggled against the Rays throughout his career, however, with a 6.51 ERA in five starts against Tampa Bay. Holland will have to be on top of his game Saturday with the Rays' coming off a nine-run outburst and smelling blood in the water.
