This morning, the Breeders’ Cup announced that a record 193 horses were pre-entered for the event’s 15 championship races scheduled to run at Churchill Downs on Nov. 4th and 5th. Fifteen horses pre-entered for the $5 million Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic, including filly Havre de Grace, 2010 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile champion Uncle Mo, Game On Dude, Flat Out, and European raiders So You Think (NZ) and Await the Dawn.
Breeders’ Cup 2011 Pre-Entries: Record 193 Contenders Enter Field
The Breeders’ Cup announced the pre-entries for the 2011 Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs on Nov. 4th and 5th.
Three-time Breeders’ Cup champion Goldikova (IRE) was among the 13 horses pre-entered for the Breeders’ Cup Mile. Goldikova is the only horse to win three Breeders’ Cup races in the event’s history.
Owners and trainers may pre-enter a horse in up to two (2) Breeders’ Cup races but must declare final race preference prior to the post-positions draw on Monday, Oct. 31st.
