UConn at Pittsburgh NFL Draft watch notes

Getty Images

The last time Pittsburgh played a Thursday night game, running back Ray Graham exploded onto the national spotlight with 226 yardfs rushing against South Florida. He's now up to 939 yards and nine touchdown on the season. Only a junior, Graham plays with a lot of effort and has some wiggle to his game. As a prospect, Graham projects as a mid- to late-round prospect. He's a good receiver and obviously productive. But he doesn't have the best size and will probably never be much more than a rotational back.

He could have a rough time tonight against a Connecticut line that features defensive tackle prospect Kendall Reyes. The senior is having a very good year with 11 tackles and four sacks. He's facing extra blockers and still showing his ability to disrupt the pocket and get into the back field. It's hard to gauge Reyes' best fit in the NFL. He's a little undersized at 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds to play tackle in a 4-3.

The Huskies also feature a pair of draftable offensive linemen in tackle Mike Ryan and center Moe Petrus.

Through seven games, Pittsburgh defensive end/outside linebacker Brandon Lindsay has had a quiet season. He has just 26 tackles, five tackles for loss and four and a half sacks. Much more was expected of Lindsay during his senior season. He’s too small to stay at end, but hasn’t been dynamic enough to be considered highly by a 3-4 team.

Pittsburgh guard Lucas Nix is one to keep an eye, if he plays. He's currently a game-time decision.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
