Albert Pujols Unhappy About Yankees Getting Primetime MLB Playoffs Treatment

Albert Pujols isn’t happy about the shadows his Cardinals faced in Game 3 of the NLDS. And he thinks they wouldn’t have faced them if they were the New York Yankees.

St. Louis Cardinals star Albert Pujols is upset about the tough shadows the Cardinals faced in their NLDS Game 3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. And Pujols thinks the shadows were caused by the 4:00 p.m. Central time start for the game — which he thinks the Cardinals might not have to deal with if they were as primetime-primed as the New York Yankees.

"I just don't understand why we're playing a 4 o'clock game when the league knows that we have tough shadows out there," he told the AP.

"We've been talking (about the shadows) all year long, and there's nothing you can do about it. Maybe if we were the New York Yankees maybe we would have played an 8 o'clock game today."

Of course, Pujols does seem to understand why the Cardinals played when they did, and he’s likely right about MLB and its Turner broadcast partners trying to put the league’s premier draw on in primetime. But he’s also right that there’s nothing he can do about it.
