Boxing’s white whale, the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight, still does not appear to be on the horizon. And this time, but this time boxing fans can’t point the finger at Money Mayweather.

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum is not interested in negotiating for a fight at this time, according to Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather’s advisors, and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.

Here’s the money quote: Ellerbe told ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael, “In my opinion, you have three cowards -- Bob Arum, (Pacquiao trainer) Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao.

“Now we all know the truth once and for all why this fight hasn’t been made,” he added. “It should be clear to everyone that they don’t care what the fans want, especially when Floyd is ready, willing and able to fight Manny Pacquiao now. Floyd said if this isn’t clear, he doesn’t know what is.”

The conversation has again turned to Pacquiao-Mayweather after the former escaped his last bout with a controversial decision against Juan Manuel Marquez. Mayweather’s last fight was also embroiled in controversy, when he took out Victor Ortiz in Sept. following a bizarre head-butting incident.
