Martin Kaymer shot a 9-under 63 in the fourth round of the HSBC Champions not only to win the tournament but also complete the biggest comeback in World Golf Championship history.
WGC HSBC Champions 2011: Martin Kaymer Shoots 63 To Complete Record-Breaking Comeback
Martin Kaymer completed a record-breaking comeback in the final round of the HSBC Champions to become the 10th golfer to win a WGC championship and a major championship.

Kaymer entered the final round five strokes behind third-round leader Fredrik Jacobson, but he birdied nine of his last 12 holes. Kaymer, winner of the 2010 PGA Championship, caught Jacobson at the 13th and never looked back. The German’s 63 was the lowest closing round by a WGC winner since its inception in 1999; Hunter Mahan’s 64 at last year’s Bridgestone Invitational was the previous benchmark.
Notable finishes in the tournament included Graeme McDowell (finished third), Rory McIlroy (T-4), Mahan (T-4) and Adam Scott (T-11). Scott was the center of controversy throughout the tournament as his current caddie, Steve Williams, for his comments towards former employer Tiger Words during a roast last week.
Kaymer finished the tournament at 20-under and earned $1.2 million in the process. For a full leaderboard, click here.
