The BBWAA will be releasing results of their award voting next week... but we here at SB Nation are getting a head start. All this week, we will be posting results of balloting among SB Nation bloggers and Baseball Nation writers for Rookie of the Year, Cy Young Award and MVP in both leagues.

Today, the results for Rookie of the Year. Just as in the BBWAA awards, SB Nation voters cast ballots either for the league they blog for, or for the league with which they are most familiar. The two ballots cast on behalf of Baseball Nation were by Rob Neyer and Jason Brannon. For this award, three selections were made, with points awarded on a 5-3-1 basis.

Rob (AL): Michael Pineda, Ivan Nova, Jeremy Hellickson
Jason (NL): Danny Espinosa, Craig Kimbrel, Wilson Ramos

Here’s the rest of the schedule for awards this week:

Tuesday, Nov. 8: AL Cy Young Award
Wednesday, Nov. 9: NL Cy Young Award
Thursday, Nov. 10: AL Most Valuable Player Award
Friday, Nov. 11: NL Most Valuable Player Award

Michael Pineda, our AL winner, posted a 3.74 ERA and finished eighth in the AL with a 1.099 WHIP, at the age of 22. NL winner Craig Kimbrel led the NL in saves with 46 and had an outstanding 1.039 WHIP, although he blew saves in three key September games that might have kept the Braves out of the playoffs.
