To Texas we go, where Southlake Carroll upset Skyline in the 5A semifinals on Saturday. The final score, while interesting, isn’t the story here. How Southlake Carroll quarterback Kenny Hill scored the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter, however, is.
The Quick Gray Fox Jumped Over The Lazy Pylon
↵To set the scene, Hill broke free with just under a minute to go and his team down by a field goal. And then this happened.
↵↵As Hill broke free on the right side and then spun away from a defender, a grey fox began running down the field. Right down the middle of the field, toward Hill, who glided to the right sideline and then dived into the end zone.
“I saw it run by,” said Hill, who ran for three touchdowns in the game. “That was just weird.”
↵↵Hill’s touchdown capped a 14-point barrage in 21 seconds as Southlake Carroll rallied from down 10 to win. No word on the whereabouts of the fox, or if it’s a rally fox a la the St. Louis Cardinals’ squirrel.
