2012 NFL Draft: Miami running back Lamar Miller turning pro

Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports is reporting that Miami running back Lamar Miller is entering the 2012 NFL Draft. As Joe Schad of ESPN points out, Miller is signing with agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Miller, a redshirt sophomore, should be considered the second-best running back in the draft after Alabama's Trent Richardson, if he enters.

Miller is a great one-cut runner who is agile and quick enough to attack the cut back lane. What sets Miller apart from other running backs in this class is his break away speed. When Miller can get into the open, he’s hard to catch from behind. We have more notes on Miller here and will have a full scouting report at some point before the draft.

Miller, who isn’t playing in a bowl game, ran for 1,272 yards and 9 touchdowns this season. It was his first season as a starter for the Hurricanes.

Rosenhaus has now signed three Miami underclassmen – Miller, defensive tackle Marcus Forston and wide receiver Tommy Streeter.

Juniors have until Jan. 15 to declare for the draft. They have until Jan. 18 to renounce their intentions. Follow our underclassmen tracker here.
