Based on that report, the Rangers, Nationals and Marlins have all more or less offered Buehrle the same contract. There could be small differences, but what Buehrle is said to be seeking in addition to three years is a no-trade clause, and at last word, nobody’s given that yet.
As for the Twins, by going after Buehrle but offering less than the others, they could be trying to play off Buehrle’s familiarity and possible fondness for the AL Central. Or they could just be inept negotiators. It’s possible that Terry Ryan is way worse at his job than he used to be.

Here’s where it gets really interesting. According to Joe Cowley, three teams - two in the National League - have offered Buehrle three-year contracts worth a lot of money. None of those teams, however, have yet included the no-trade clause that Buehrle apparently wants. So there is not yet a deal. But a deal could happen soon, should one of those teams change its mind.
