On Wednesday, the Baseball Hall of Fame announced that the Ford C. Frick Award -- given out to a broadcaster for “major contributions to baseball” each year -- is going to Tim McCarver.
Tim McCarver Wins Ford C. Frick Broadcasting Award
The (note: not real) press release is as follows. Beware. It’s a little difficult to read. They’re strange birds over at the Hall of Fame.
Guys,
We got this whatever thing. It’s a plaque with some stuff on it. We are pleased to announce that the.

It’s funny how you.
[pause]
Tom McCarver exemblifies what it means to be a baseball. Whether win, lose, or draw, here is a thing. Award. This reminds me of a story of a time.
You know what? Tim McConner might not be the most punctual lawnmower on the porch, but he is a nice and really friendly guy. We like him a lot. Here is your plaque, him.
Him McCarver is maybe not the best baseball broadcaster out there, but every other one of those jerks has already won it, such as Van Scully. Too, he is the only person ever to get Joe Buck to smile and make him say anything other than “may I please have a bowl of uncooked oatmeal.”
There’s a lot of numbers and data. Who is the best brordcaster. Well in my opinion i Believe that it;
Wait why are we giving it to Tim McCarver? Could we just call a year off and just use the frame of the award to hang a painting of a bird? I do not have a painting of a bird. Can we get one.
Here is the beginning of the press release. Dear baseball, we have got a thing and gave it to Trim McCarver. This is seriously the least deserving thing to ever get mad about. Tim McCarver is real nice and likes baseball a ton and is always smiling and such! Don’t say bad things about people. Say good things about them and give them awards, you ding-bat!
Sincerely,
Brad, probly
