Over at Baseball Nation Wednesday night, Grant Brisbee noted a mildly unfortunate incident that occurred during baseball’s Winter Meetings. A gentleman apparently wasn’t paying attention to where he was walking, and fell into a reflecting pool.
ANIMATED: Man At Baseball’s Winter Meetings Falls Into Pool
The GIF is after the jump. Several observations about this horribly important development are also after the jump.
- Now that the Cardinals have lost out on Albert Pujols, water they going to do?
- Looks like the Angels aren't the only ones who are making a splash.
- The Angels locked up Pujols for a long-term deal. Well, if they really have the itch to owe millions of dollars to a 40-year-old, that's their prerogative.
- Long-term contracts don't always work out, as many big-spending teams have found. Ten-year deals, especially.
- Perhaps the gentleman was looking for loose change. The Tigers may have thrown a Penny in there.
- All sorts of deals going on at this year's Winter Meetings. Whatever they're cooking up on that hot stove of theirs, it's sure to wet your appetite.
- With the rest of the A.L. West getting stronger, some might expect the Mariners to hold a fire sale. But don't expect them to liquidate their assets just yet.
- Pujols was certainly the biggest name, but we're just getting started. There are plenty of other big names in the free agent pool.
- You'd better make your moves at the Winter Meetings. Because if you don't, you might just end up having to pick up players off wavers.
- If pitchers want to command more money in the open market, it wouldn't hurt to expand their repertoire and master another pitch, such as a sinker.
- The Pujols signing is certainly a coup for Angels general manager Arte Moreno, who was looking for redemption ever since he failed to acquire CC Sabathia.
- There are baseball teams named after fish, who live in water, which is the thing that this guy fell into.
- Be sure to catch up with all the Albert Pujols happenings over at Baseball Nation, where they are updating their StoryStream.
