That's when Independiente, holding a 2-0 lead earned last week in Buenos Aires, climbs to Quito to take on Sociedad Deportivo, while Jaguares of Mexico return north to host Alianza Lima, having earned a shock, 2-0 lead last week in Peru.
2011 Copa Libertadores: Second Legs To Trim Copa Field To 32
Those are two of six second legs that will take place this week. On Wednesday, Corinthians will try to recover from Deportes Tolima's surprising 0-0 draw in São Paulo when they travel to Colombia, having also drawn their last three in the Paulista. Felloe Brazil side Grêmio faired better last week, earning at 2-2 draw in Uruguay against Liverpool. The clubs kick-off at the same time as Tolima-Corinthians Wednesday in Porto Alegre (7:00 p.m. Eastern).
The final spots in the tournament's group stage will be determined on Thursday. Unión Española of Chile is expected to finish-off Bolivar, having earned a 1-0 advantage last week in Bolivia. The other Thursday match is a greater doubt, with Cerro Porteño taking only a 1-0 lead north to Venezuela, where they will face Deportivo Petare.
