The Philadelphia Flyers and Tampa Bay Lightning are facing off again for the final time in Tampa on Tuesday night as both teams are still first and second in the Eastern Conference. The Lighning have won all three of the matchups between these two teams, the most is a 4-0 win on February 1.
Flyers Vs. Lightning: Kris Versteeg Makes Philly Debut In Tampa
The big news for the Flyers is the debut of Kris Versteeg for the team. Versteeg was obtained in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday and has 14 goals and 35 points on the season. In five career games played against the Lightning, Versteeg has one goal and one assists and a -5. Brian Boucher is expected to be the starter and while he hasn't faced the Lightning yet this season, he is 6-6-1 career against the Lightning with a 2.76 goals against average and .887 save percentage.
Tampa has won five of their last seven games but have seen leads wiped away in the last period in the last two games. Last Tuesday, the Lightning had a 3-2 lead heading into the third period against the Buffalo Sabres and lost 7-4. On Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Lightning lost a 2-1 lead to eventually win the game in overtime. Dwayne Roloson is expected to start for the Lightning and shutout the Flyers the last time these two teams met.
