Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls have one last job to do before All-Star Weekend, and it's a doozy as the San Antonio Spurs, they with the NBA's best record have come to United Center for a visit (5 PM Eastern, TNT). The Bulls have had a really incredible season to date, No. 3 in the East at 37-16 despite asynchronous injuries to Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer.

Noah is out now, and expects to return after the break. Boozer has been performing at all an All-Star level in his stead, providing the incredible (and, if you’re FreeDarko’s Bethlehem Shoals, contemptible) Rose with a ballast.
The Spurs, if it were possible in engineering, are all ballast. The stars are plentiful and in sync; Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker take turns on the marquee, and Tim Duncan almost always leads the second line. San Antonio's offense has been a whirlwind of wonder, a regular clinic on the greatness of (yes) fundamental basketball played well.
The Bulls’ offense isn’t that fun -- it’s mostly penetration or jab-steps by Rose, to be honest -- but the Chicago defense, with an active and disruptive rhythm, should be a blast to watch.
