Birmingham City is set to take another look at a United States international. Just over a month after looking at former LA Galaxy, current FC Inglostadt striker Edson Buddle, the Blues will bring in 23-year-old Örebro SK winger Alejandro Bedoya for a trial, according to reports Monday.

Bedoya has spent the last two years in Sweden with Örebro, moving to Scandinavia in 2009 from Boston College. In his first season in Örebro, Bedoya scored three goals in 28 all-competition matches, attracting the attention of the United States Men’s National Team. Since, he has made seven appearances for Bob Bradley and was one of the last cuts from last summer’s World Cup team.

New set to to leave training in Örebro for a stint in the English midlands, a grateful Bedoya sees this as a chance to measure his talents against a higher level of competition. Via Örebro SK’s website, Bedoya said, “I am very happy and grateful about this opportunity and it will just add more experience and motivation and confidence for the future.

“Hopefully I can prove I have the qualities to convince but most importantly it gives me a chance to see where I stand compared with some of the best players in the best league in the world.”
