Manchester United’s Anderson Out Up To Two Months With Knee Injury

The injury-plagued career of Brazilian midfielder Anderson at Manchester United has taken another unfortunate turn. Having played only 13 league matches this season, Anderson is set to miss the next two months with a knee injury suffered on Saturday against Crawley Town.

The midfielder was substituted at halftime of United’s weekend FA Cup match, though little had been heard of his injury until Monday. Now comes word that Anderson’s damaged medial ligaments could require surgery, though further tests will be conducted before the Brazilian goes under the knife. If surgery is required, it will be the midfielder’s second consecutive season marred by a knee operation.

Now in his fourth season at Old Trafford, Anderson’s injuries have limited him to 31 league appearances over the last two seasons. In the season following his €30 million move from Porto, made 24 league appearances for United, the most the injury-plagued midfield has made for any club he’s represented in his eight year career.
