Chris Wright had surgery Thursday morning to repair his broken non-shooting hand. He’s likely to miss the rest of the regular season and the Big East Tournament, but the team expects its star guard to return in time for the NCAA Tournament.
Chris Wright Injury: Broken Hand Required Surgery, Will Affect Big East Tourney
With 13.1 points and 5.4 assists per game, the senior guard is one of Georgetown’s best players. His loss hurts a Hoyas team that had made a great run through the Big East regular season after early setbacks.
Wright broke his hand early in the second half of Wednesday night's loss against the Cincinnati Bearcats. He hurt it while reaching for a loose ball with Cincy's Cashmere Wright. After attempting to play with a wrapped left hand, he decided he had to leave the rest of the game.
Casual Hoya, SB Nation's Georgetown community, feels for Wright but knows the team has to get ready to play the Syracuse Orange.
