Lille Star Eden Hazard Says His Game’s Best Suited For Spain

The last year has been the coming out party for Lille midfielder Eden Hazard and taken him from promising prospect to one of the top young players in the world. That emergence has made him a top transfer target for a number of the world’s biggest clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich among others. Unfortunately for the three aforementioned and a host of others it appears as if the 20-year-old Belgian star will have them take a back seat to any Spanish suitors.

"I really enjoy England, Germany too," Hazard told French radio station RMC on Wednesday. "But my characteristics correspond to Spanish football. And this country also suits my temperament - the heat, the fine stadiums..."

Despite their best efforts it appears as if Hazard will be bound for Spain. The midfielder has been linked to both Real Madrid and Manchester United on the back of a good season last year that netted him Ligue Un Young Player of the Year and a spot on the Team of the Year, but he's gone to another level this season with the best play of his career.

With many top clubs trying to secure Hazard's services, it may be difficult for Lille to hold onto their prized youngster for much longer, but it appears as if they would like to keep him for one more season before selling him. Hazard's contract runs out in 2014 and it is rumored that Lille are trying to sign him to another year's extension like they did in August to keep his transfer value up. The youngster is already valued at €25 million.

Lille currently sits atop Ligue Un, two points clear of second place Stade Rennes and are in the knockout stages of the Europa League. Hazard has played a key role in that success with seven goals and six assists.
