Florida may have won the SEC East, but the old guard at Kentucky isn’t about to let the Gators coast through the rest of their regular season. The Wildcats lead the Gators, 34-33, from Lexington.
No. 22 Kentucky Leads No. 13 Florida 34-33 At Halftime
Darius Miller's been Kentucky's leader in the first half, scoring 13 points to lead all scorers and registering two assists and two rebounds. Brandon Knight has added 11 for the 'Cats, who recovered from a mid-half lull to retake the lead late.
Florida has been relying on its guard play and three-point shooting to stay in this road game. Kenny Boynton leads the Gators with 10 points, and backcourt mate Erving Walker has eight. The Gators are four-for-nine from three-point range, slightly better, by percentage, than their 11-for-25 performance from the field, and have gotten more open looks outside than they have been able to create down low.
With a win today against Kentucky, Florida would be able to clinch the SEC’s regular-season championship with a win over Alabama at home on Tuesday. But that’s still at least another half away.
