Villanova F Mouphtaou Yarou is a crucial frontcourt presence for Villanova, and the Wildcats could recover from his injury during the first half of Tuesday's Big East Tournament game vs. South Florida. But with Villanova's season spiraling downward, they can at least take solace in this: it looks like Yarou will be back when (if?) the Wildcats play in the NCAA Tournament.
Villanova Yarou Injury: Bruised Shoulder Leaves Him Day-To-Day
The initial fear was that Yarou had a broken collarbone that would keep him out for the rest of the season, but initial tests appear to be more promising. Bruised ribs, facial lacerations, and a bruised right shoulder are certainly nothing to celebrate, but it’s all better than a season-ending broken collarbone.
Yarou is a key interior defender and rebounder for the slumping ‘Cats, and if they’re going to have any shot at a turnaround come tourney time, they’ll need Yarou healthy. And while he’ll be re-evaluated on Friday, right now, it looks like Villanova will get just that.
