Duke’s Nolan Smith Suffers Toe Injury In ACC Tournament Quarterfinal

The Duke Blue Devils already have lost one all-world point guard to a toe injury in Kyrie Irving. Now, they may have lost another. ACC Player of the Year Nolan Smith suffered a toe injury in Duke's ACC Tournament Quarterfinal game against Maryland, and has yet to return to the lineup.

Smith suffered the injury midway through the second half. He drove into the lane and tried to throw a jump-pass to Kyle Singler, but landed awkwardly on his foot and stayed on the ground for a couple minutes. He was taken out of the game and went back to the locker room, with what was officially referred to as a "jammed toe." He sat on the bench after coming back. Prior to the injury, Smith was struggling, shooting just 2-11 from the floor

Duke has started to pull away from the Terps, so it’s possible Smith is out because the Blue Devils have the game in hand and not because he is seriously injured.
